Weather Conditions
Other than the altitude change affecting your body physically, the weather may be another challenge you may face while climbing Kwangde Peak. The weather at higher altitudes is sudden and uncertain so it is best to begin climbing in the early morning to avoid strong winds. These strong winds also act as a difficulty during your climbing journey. Note: Be ready to handle all types of weather and prepare physically and mentally.
Acclimatization Day
It’s crucial to gradually acclimate yourself at high altitudes by taking a break at specific elevations to prevent altitude sickness. For Kwangde Peak Climbing, the first acclimatization takes place at Namche Bazar (3,440m) and a reserve day at the high camp (5,200m). While acclimatization at Namche Bazar, you can do day trips exploring the town, and visit different museums and shops. Other best options for the day include a short hike to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung for a magical sunset view. The next acclimatization day provides an opportunity for your guide to teach you the necessary skills for using climbing equipment. The acclimatization days and further reserve days offer enough time to adjust to the higher altitude with low oxygen levels and to prepare for climbing activity.
Summiting Day
From the high camp of Kwangde Peak (5,200m), the time to attempt the summit of Kwangde Peak begins. The trip starts in the early morning, struggling to ascend towards the Peak enjoying the magnificent mountain peaks. The guides navigate the routes using ice axes, and ropes. After reaching the summit, the panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,586m), Gaurishankar (7,134m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188m) along with many other numerous ranges of towering mountains. The feeling of reaching the final destination- the summit of Kwangde Peak is unforgettable. The goal of reaching the summit feels like you have conquered the world and dreams eventually come true. After capturing lifelong memory and indescribable feelings, you will descend back to the Base Camp of Kwangde Peak. The ascending and descending journey is quite challenging but achieving the summit of the peak is the most pleasurable moment of a lifetime.
Travel Insurance
Before attempting peak climbing in Nepal, travel insurance must be made compulsorily. Since the Kwangde Peak climbing, reaches an elevation of 6,011 meters, make sure your insurance covers the trekking and climbing activities up to an elevation of 6,200 meters. It is recommended to get insurance that covers all the comprehensive expenses which include medical issues, accidents, injury, and helicopter rescue facility in case of emergency.
Food and Water
During the trek, you can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisines as well as various types of international cuisine such as (Tibetan, Italian, Continental, and Indian). Lodges and teahouses along the trail serve clean, hygienic, fresh, highly nutritious, and delicious foods.
While trekking or climbing, trekkers are required to drink 3 to 4 liters of water per day to stay hydrated and save energy. Drinking water is available from the water sources like taps or springs but make sure to use a water purifier before drinking. Fresh and safe drinking water is offered at teahouses or lodges in the form of boiled, bottled, or mineral water. It is advised to carry 3 o4 water bottles for refilling purposes.

Thermal Base layers, fleece jacket, waterproof or windproof jacket, short and long-sleeved t-shirts, down jackets, thermal trousers and pants, insulated jacket, underwear, sports bra (for women), hiking shorts, sunhat, gloves, sunglasses, trekking socks and shoes, and trekking sandals.
Gears
Climbing boots, crampons, ice axe, climbing harnesses, climbing helmets, jumars, rope, ascenders, and descenders, sleeping bags, four seasoned tents, and trekking poles.
First Aid and Toiletries
Painkillers, elastic bandages, eye drops, ear plugs, paracetamol, first aid box, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Miscellaneous Items Maps and navigation tools, Camera and spare batteries, and binoculars.
Short details of the trip program
The Kwangde Peak Climbing starts after taking a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. The trek beings from Lukla passing Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and Thame to reach Kwangde Peak Base Camp. In addition, we will also set up one more camp at the high camp before heading towards the actual summit. The trail follows the south face, which is a short and easier trail than the north face. The climb to the summit is a rigorous task yet this is what makes the experience more exciting. The view from the top of the Kongde Peak is remarkable the mountains of the Everest region in an emphatic manner. It is one of the most beautiful adventure peaks to climb which demands good physical endurance for a successful climb. The trail follows the same route and the climbing journey marks a full stop once you arrive at Kathmandu from Lukla.

What is the grade of Kwandge Peak Climbing?
It is one of the most difficult peaks to climb in Nepal and is graded as strenuous level of difficulty. Without any basic knowledge and previous climbing experience, it might be challenging.
Is it necessary to go through the High Camp?
The Base camp lies at an altitude of 4,700m/15,416 ft above the sea. Yes, we have to go through the High Camp because the top of the peak is very far from the Base camp. For preparation and to gain some knowledge about the weather, you have to go through a high camp which lies at an altitude of 5,200m/17,060ft.
Where is Kwangde Peak located?
Kwangde Peak is located southeast of Namche Bazar in the Everest region. It stands just above the Bhotekoshi River bordering the Rolwaling Himal and makes an impressive multi-summited ridge on the eastern end of the Lumding Himal which is a part of the Rolwaling Himal.
How long does it take to complete Kwangde Peak Climbing?
According to our planned itinerary, the journey starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and ends with a flight to Kathmandu from Lukla taking around 14 days to complete including acclimatization day and reserve day for weather. However, the days required to complete vary according to weather conditions and the route chosen.

When is the best time for Kwangde Peak Climbing?
There are two distinct seasons for climbing Pharchamo Peak in Nepal: Autumn (September, October, and November) and Spring (March, April, and May) seasons. The climate during these seasons is steady with clear visibility of mountain views and the possibility of rainfall and snowfall is very low.
