is one and least hunting reserve in Nepal established in 19878 A.D. Hunting
Reserve over’s total area of  1,325 sq.km
spread over Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung Districts including world seven highest
peak Mt Dhaulagiri. The hunting reserve consists of the forests, marshland
(named as dhor) and flat meadows (called as patan).Hunting reserve is
characterized by alpine, sub alpine and high temperate vegetation. Analyzing
the wild beauty, interesting Magar culture, abundant animals and birds life
posses one of you the real life time achievements. Magar, Brahmins, Chhetri,
Tamang are ethnic people living around the surrounding of this reserve.

Flora and Faunas

 Reserve is one of the prime habitats for flora and faunas as fir pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock including blue sheep, leopard, Himalayan Tahr, Barking deer, wild boar.  Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve includes musk deer, wolf, red panda, cheer pheasant and Lophophorous as endangered animals Reserve is one of the prime habitats for flora and faunas as fir pine, birch, rhododendron, hemlock including blue sheep, leopard, Himalayan Tahr, Barking deer, wild boar.  Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve includes musk deer, wolf, red panda, cheer pheasant and Lophophorous as endangered animals.

Climate

Analyzing the geographical structure and landscape any hunters can have sound knowledge of climatic variation that falls over hunting reserve. Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve lies over the mountainous region. The monsoon lasts until the beginning of October, during winter day temperature reach up to 10-degree centigrade and falls up to -9 during the night. The frozen smell of cloud disturbs the whole morning at high elevation and snow may occur at a low elevation from the month of March to April. Hunting reserve has a diverse climatic condition. 

Dhorpatan Hunting reserve is famous for hunting, viewing the landscape and geographical destination this reserve is also an attractive destination for trekking too. The reserve is one of the prime habitats of blue sheep, a highly prized trophy animal, which is the main target of hunters. Other game species are Ghoral, serow, Himalayan tahr, black bear, pheasant and partridge.

Hunting Block and Hunting Animals

Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is divided over differ seven hunting block categories for sound management of best of the best sport Himalayan trophy Hunting, excluding poaching and for preserving the balanced ecosystem. There are seven hunting block which is divided into two reasons southern and northern, southern one has four blocks where there are three blocks over the northern one. The hunting block and hunting animal enlisted below are verified and certified by the government of Nepal

issued by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation in
