Your Journey, Step by Step
Kathmandu flight to Lukla then trek to Phakding (2,610m/)
Our Ama Dablam Base Camp trek starts with the early morning flight to Lukla. In the morning you will have early breakfast in your hotel room. Then our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport. After 30 mins flight with the amazing dramatic views of the terraced hills and beautiful mountain, we reach to the Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla. On reaching Lukla, we will meet the rest of the trekking team
From Lukla, we head toward Phakding. The trail from Lukla drops steeply for a bit. Then we descend to Cheplung and Thado Khoshi Goan. There you see the suspension bridge that we have to cross and see the head of Kusum Kanguru. We then climb the bridge to reach on the bank of the Dudh Koshi River, Ghat. And we have the final easy walk and then climb to reach Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.
Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft) from Phakding
Today, we are heading to the famous Sherpa village and the trading hub of the Khumbu region. The trail from Phakding climbs gently to the Toktok and Benkar valley. On the way, we cross the Dudh Koshi river. The snowcapped peak of Thamserku & Khumbila is seen from Benkar. Crossing the Dudh Koshi River at Benkar, we walk to Monjo. And we enter the Sagarmatha National Park after summiting the permits. From here, the trail descends to the large farm. We again cross the Dudh Koshi river and following the west bank we reach Jorsale. After Jorsale we re-cross the Dudh Koshi and with some ups & downs, we make a steep climb near the Dudh Koshi. The trail then follows a steep climb towards Namche. Namche, the gateway of the Khumbu region. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
We will spend another day in Namche bazaar as acclimatization. And for the acclimatization hike, we hike to Khumjung and Kunde village. We first trek to the Syangboche airstrip, the highest airstrip in the world. From here, you have the aerial view of Namche Bazaar. Then we trek to the Everest View Hotel, from where we have the magnificent view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many other Himalayan peaks. And after having tea/coffee, we continue toward Khumjung village. The first school built in 1961 in the Khumbu region, with the help of Sir Edmund Hillary and the Himalayan Trust. After visiting the school and monastery then we hike back to Namche. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar trek to Phortse Village (3,810m/12,500ft)
From Namche, the trail first climbs up for a while to Chor camp at Namche Bazaar. Then we walk to Kyangjuma with the incredible view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, Kusum Kanguru, Cholatse, Taboche peak, Khumbila and many other. The trail from Kyangjuma follows an easy walk through rhododendron from Sanasa. Then the trail steeply climbs up to reach Mongla Danda. From here you can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Ama Dablam with other many mountains. Now the trail descends in steep bends trail to Phortse Thanga. Here, you meet the two trail, a left-hand side trail leads to Gokyo valley and left side trail leads to Phortse village. Finally, following the left side and crossing the Dudh Koshi river we make the steep climb up through pine, rhododendron forest and juniper to the Phortse village. We can see the magnificent view of Mt. Cho Oyu, Machhermo peak, Thamserku, Khumbila and Kwangde peak and other peaks from Phortse. Overnight at Phortse village.
Phortse Village trek to Pangboche (3,985m/13,074ft)
After breakfast in Phortse, we head toward the Pangboche. The trail from Phortse first climbs to a ridge. From this ridge, you can see the Namche, Tengboche monastery and an amazing view of Himalayas. Leaving ridge, we follow the narrow cliff steep climb up. Then we descend to the trail the follows easily up and down walk to upper Pangboche. In Upper Pangboche we will visit the old monastery in the whole Everest region. During this trek, we will see the Himalayan tahr, yak, pheasant and eagle and other. We can also visit the monastery where the scalp of the Yeti is preserved. Overnight at Pangboche
Day hike to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,570m/14,993ft)
Today we are hiking to the base camp of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, Ama Dablam. From Pangboche, we first descend then cross the river. Then we have a steep climb to Cholungche Kharka. After that trail gradually climbs up to the Ama Dablam Base Camp. You have the incredible view of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Lobuche peak, Mt. Pumori, Kangtega, Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Cholatse, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Taboche peak, Khumbila, Khumbu Yul Lha, Kwangde Ri, Amphu gyabjen and sparkling view of Minbo Glacier, etc. on the way. On reaching Ama Dablam Base Camp we enjoy the beautiful view. Namche bazaar and Mt. Everest is also seen from the Ama Dablam Base Camp. After some time in base camp, we steeply descend the river. And crossing the river, we climb and follow the trail that leads us to Pangboche. Overnight at Pangboche
Pangboche trek to Tengboche (3,860m/12,664ft)
The trail from Pangboche descends and pass through the amazingly carved mani stones to the Imja Khola. Above the river, we cross a steel suspension bridge to Debuche. And a steep climb from Debuche through a forest of birches conifers and rhododendrons, we finally reach Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche we will visit the famous monastery of the Khumbu region, Thyangboche monastery. It is the religious centre of the entire Khumbu region. Overnight at Tengboche.
Tengboche trek to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast in Tengboche, we trek back to Namche Bazaar along the Dudh Koshi River. Passing through the pleasant rhododendron forest and excellent waterfalls. The trail ascends to Lagusasa and takes you through a pine forest where you can find the muck deer often grazing in the morning. Then the easy walk takes us to one of the highest town in the Everest region, Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar trek to Lukla (2,860m/9,383ft)
From Namche, we trek through the dense rhododendron forest. Cross Tenzing Hillary, the suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi river in Jorsale. We can find the different species of Plant and animals as we enter the area of national. Then we reach Monjo the border of national where you permit were checked before
After Monjo, we pass several villages like Chhamuwa, Benkar. On the way, you have the serene beauty of the Himalayas to beautiful village Phakding. From Phakding our trek passes through prayers wheels, Chortens, mani stones and many other things to the Cheung. Further, we cross over the suspension bridge of Thado Khola. And with the flowing Dudh Koshi River, we reach to Lukla. Overnight at Lukla.
Flight to Kathmandu (1,350m/4430ft)
Today we are flying back to Kathmandu. After early morning breakfast, will head toward the Tenzing Hillary airport and have another thrilling flight to Kathmandu. Enjoying the one of the most interesting routes ion a hillside surrounded by high mountains peaks we will reach Kathmandu after about 30mins. On landing Kathmandu, our guide will drop you to your
hotel.
Since the flight from and to Lukla is always in the morning, you have leisure time in the afternoon. So you can either take rest or have a walk in the Thamel area. And in the evening you will have a cultural dinner with the Bold Himalaya. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Final Departure or Join Next Tour
It’s your final day in Nepal, one of the representatives of Bold Himalaya will drop to the Tribhuvan International Airport, 3 hours before your flight. Hope you had a wonderful trip to Nepal.
