FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
What should I bring for a 2-day Bhote Koshi rafting trip?
Bring lightweight, quick-dry clothes for rafting, secure footwear (like sandals with straps or water shoes), a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, and a change of clothes for the evening. We’ll handle all the technical gear—helmets, life jackets, paddles, and rafts.
Do I need to know how to swim to join this trip?
Swimming is not a requirement. You’ll be equipped with a certified life jacket, and our team is trained in river rescue and first aid. While comfort in the water helps, our safety standards are designed to support all experience levels.
What’s included in the 2-day Bhote Koshi rafting package?
The package includes round-trip transportation, all rafting gear, one night of accommodation (typically in a riverside camp or lodge), meals during the trip, permits, professional guides, safety kayakers, and a first aid kit. We take care of the logistics so you can focus on the adventure.
When is the best time to raft on the Bhote Koshi River?
The best seasons for Bhote Koshi rafting are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). These months offer ideal water levels and pleasant weather. Monsoon season can raise the river flow too much for safe rafting, so we generally avoid June to August.
Is this trip family-friendly?
Due to the intensity of the rapids, this trip is not ideal for young children or older adults. It’s best for adventurous individuals, friends, and groups looking for a heart-pounding outdoor experience.
Where does the Bhote Koshi rafting trip start and end?
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the rafting starting point near Baseri. After two days of rafting down one of Nepal’s steepest and most exciting rivers, the trip ends with a return transfer back to Kathmandu.
