Dhulikhel Namobuddha Hiking Route

The Dhulikhel Namobuddha hiking journey commences by taking a bus or taxi from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel, which is a beautiful hill station with stunning mountain views. Spend some time exploring Dhulikhel, which is known for its Newari culture, traditional buildings, and scenic landscapes. 


The hike from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha is about 12-14 kilometers and the trail is well-marked. The trek offers beautiful views of the Himalayan mountains and passes through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional Nepali villages. 


After a few hours of hiking, you'll reach Namobuddha, a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site. It's known for its peaceful environment and the Namobuddha Stupa, which is an important religious monument. Spend some time exploring Namobuddha, circumambulating the stupa, and enjoying the tranquility of the area. After your visit to Namobuddha, you can choose to return to Dhulikhel the same way you came or take an alternative route if you prefer a loop trek

As your hike starts, you'll be surrounded by lush greenery and terraced fields, and the rural landscape is dotted with traditional Nepali houses and farmland. On a clear day, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including peaks like Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar, and even glimpses of Mount Everest in the distance. Itinerary

day-1

We drive from the center of Kathmandu to halfway to Dhulikhel. The hiking trail passes through colorful dense forests and offers majestic views of the Himalayas surrounding the traditional village. After one or one half hours scenic drive takes us through the heritage city of Bhaktapur and passes through green meadows. We arrive at Dhulikhel.
Dhulikhel is one of the best easy trail hiking areas around Kathmandu. Dhulikhel trails lead us to the beautiful greenery of hills and cities. Lots of roads and villages to go through which gets a bit boring but the Forrest parts and the views of the countryside make up for it.

The trail uphill of Dhulikhel is very enjoyable. We will walk 2-3 uphill to reach the top. It is famous for its scenic beauty and tradition, a lovely place. The numerous cultural attractions, the beauty of the traditional lifestyle, and the green vegetation make Dhulikhel an ideal place to visit to show what Nepal can offer.

From the top of this hill, we can have a complete panoramic view of the snowy ranges of Annapurna range, Langtang, Choba Bhamre, Gaurishanker, Number Karyolung, etc. After exploring Dhulikhel hill, we will hike towards the Namobuddha. It will take us around 4-5 hrs to reach the base of Namobuddha from Dhulikhel. We will have a great evening with a beautiful view of the sunset. We will stay overnight at the Namobuddha hotel\logs at the end of the second day.

day-2

In the morning we will wake up early to see a lovely view of sunrise. The view from the Nagarkot in the morning is mind-blowing. We can have a breathtaking view of the city from the hill. We will have our meal and start the trek to explore Namobuddha hill. Namobuddha is one of the most important and oldest Buddhist pilgrimage sites.
The beautiful stupa of Namobuddha stands on the slopes of Gandha Malla Hill and it believes that it was built on the bones and hair of prince Mahasattva. It is also the best place for hiking in Kathmandu valley. Namobuddha is a cultural place where people worship Lord Buddha. The trail will be easy to reach the top monastery of the hill. Half of the trails are very small roads so; there won’t be vehicles on the way. The trails lead us to the quiet forest which has a peaceful environment.

Namobuddha hike provides truly exciting Himalayan views and village hikes. Beautiful monasteries and enjoyable greenery trails make people go there for hiking. We need to go by the stairs to reach the top of Namobuddha. We can see the beautiful view of the long-range mountains like Mt Everest and Langtang in clear weather. After exploring the Namobuddha hill and visiting the monastery. We will return to Kathmandu and end this memorable trekking over here.
