Overview
Everest
Base Camp is the first camp of Mt. Everest to prepare a train for climbing mount Everest which is 5,364m high from sea level. Everest Base Camp is the most popular trekking routes in the world.
EBC trek is famous for its spectacular mountain peaks. Also for the loyalty and
friendliness of the inhabitants of the Everest region. Everest Base Camp trek
retraces the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay & the
countless other early pioneers of Mount Everest.
Everest
Base Camp is at the base of the world’s tallest mountain, Mt. Everest
surrounded by plummeting glaciers and 8,000-meter giants i.e. four of the
world’s ten tallest peaks- Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt.
Makalu (8,481m) and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m). Besides that, anywhere you stand on
the route to Everest Base Camp, the vista behind you will be shimmering
mountains. You will also get the mesmerizing sight of the Khumbu Icefall.
Khumbu icefall is a brilliant ice formation located at the edge of Khumbu
Glacier. You have stunning views of the mountains including Mt Ama Dablam, Mt.
Kangtega, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kusum Kanguru, Mt Pumori, Mt. Lhotse,
Lobuche Peak, Island peak, Mt. Makalu. And the closest view of Mt. Everest from
Kala Patthar is mesmerizing. The trail follows any suspension bridge with
many prayers flag and chanted stone carving.
Everest
Base Camp trail takes you through Himalayan sherpa villages. And passes through
the alpine vegetation decorated with vibrant rhododendron forest. You can see
the continuous stretch of the snow-clad peaks unveils behind the confluence of

The trail to the base camp passes through the countries first national park.
Sagarmatha National Park, which is also listed as the world heritage sites.
This forest provides habitat to at least 118 species of birds and is home to
a number of rare mammal species. Forest of pine and hemlock cover the lower
elevations of the national park. Sagarmatha National Park area is also the
major source of glaciers. And it provides freshwater-based benefits for the
people downstream. It is one of the most geologically interesting regions in
the world with high geologically young mountains and glaciers. Moreover, this
park contains the world’s highest ecologically characteristic flora &
fauna, intricately blended with the rich Sherpa culture.
Everest
Base Camp trek starts with the thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla while
you are in flight catch every moment beautiful with the scenery of the village,
cultivated land, green forest close view of many mountains. The flight takes
approximately 30 minutes and you will be landing on the lap of the mountain at an
altitude of 2860m/9383ft. Lukla airport is considered as Tenzing-Hilary airport
one of the most thrilling airports in the world.
The trail from Lukla descends Cheplung and with the first glimpse of Mt. Khumbila
ascend to village Ghat. Walk through the rhododendron forest, Snowcapped
mountain, monasteries and many more to Phakding. The trail through suspension bridges and the dense
forest of Sagarmatha National park. Viewing Kongde Ri (6,187m) Kusum Kanguru
(6367m/20889ft), the trail crosses some villages Tok Tok, Benkar to the
entrance checkpoint of Sagarmatha National Park, Monjo village. The next stop is
the famous Namche. We walking through the national park and following Dudh
Khoshi river to Jorsale and Namche.
Namche
Bazar the trading hub of Sherpa people has shops, restaurants, bars. It is the first acclimatization day, you will hike up to Everest view hotel having
coffee, enjoying 360-degree view of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. Visit
Sherpa museum, Tenzing Norgay memorial park
After the leaving of Namche bazaar, EBC trekking trail follows the valley of Imja Khola. You have an amazing view of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Kangtega and Ama Dablam mountains and dominating the skyline ahead are the giants, Lhotse and Mt. Everest. And the steep climb from Imja Khola to Tengboche. This viewpoint offers an exceptional view of 8,000m and 7,000m peaks and has the famous Tengboche Monastery. Tengboche Monastery (Dawa Choling Gompa) one of the popular monasteries of Nepal, every bushiest monk the gathering preys and songs, you can partake in these beautiful moments
Pass through innumerable Chortens, Mani walls and small Chorten. Enjoying a close-up view of Ama Dablam, cross the suspension bridge over the Imja Khola. Trek in the fields of barley, buckwheat, and potatoes to Dingboche (4410m). It is another extra acclimatization day we climb up to Nangkartshang Peak (5083m/16679ft). It is one of the best viewpoints of Khumbu offers the view of the world’s three highest peaks- Lhotse, Makala, and Cho Oyu, Imja Lake, Dzongla lake, Imja valley and many more.
Furthermore,
the trail takes you Lobuche, cross Thukla pass (4877m/ 16000ft) it is the
memorial to the fallen Mount Everest climbers. The trail offers an amazing
view of Cholatse, Taboche, Lobuche West and Lobuche East.
The trail then ascends through moraine glacier, sandpit and boulders along Imja River
to Gorakshep( 5140m/16863ft). Gorakshep is the last human settlement at a
higher altitude. It is also the fork that leads to Everest Base Camp or Kala
Patthar.
We
follow the Khumbu glacier to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17598ft) offers beautiful
view of Himalaya, Khumbu Icefall and many more, Hike to Kalapattar (5545m)
gives superb Himalayan views including the Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt. Lhotse 8516m,
Mt. Nuptse 7855m, Mt. Pumori 7161m, Mt. Changtse 7550m, Mt. Lingterin 6679m,
Mt. Amadablam 6856m, Mt. Thamserku 6723m, Mt. Kangtega 6685m, Mt. Kusum Kanguru
6367m, Mt. Kongde 6011m, Mt. Khumbila 5761m (God of the Khumbu), Tawache peak
6367m, Mt. Cholatse 6335m, Island peak 6179m, Lobuche peak 6145m, Pokalde peak
5806m, Honku south peak 6119m.
And
same way back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu

BEST TIME FOR EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK:
The best time for the Everest base camp trek is Autumn(September October November) and Spring(March, April, May). Although you can do the EBC trek for a whole year.
During winter it may be difficult because of snow.
