Itinerary
Your Journey, Step by Step
SIGHT-SEEING AND TREK PREPARATION
After having our delicious breakfast, we will visit the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites including the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swyambhunath), and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath) which is one of the largest stupas in the world. The city life is vibrant as the culture and heritage reflect their ethnic identity. Later, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader, guide, and other team members. Bold Himalaya will give us brief detail regarding our trek as well as provides us with an opportunity to ask any questions we may have regarding our upcoming adventure. You can also go for last-minute shopping for your trek. You will find each and every branded trekking gear at Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu

Our first-day journey begins with our delicious morning breakfast. Dhunche is the starting point of our actual trek to Gosaikunda. We will head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Dhunche, the beautiful settlement of the Tamang community. The first part of our drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite effortless. We will pass through beautiful villages, rivers with amazing views of the Himalayan peaks like Langtang and Ganesh Himal. The path now moves along a gravel road. After our entrance to Dhunche, we will roam around the village and spend our time with locals. Overnight at lodge.
Trek from Dhunche to Shin Gompa
We will start our trek after our breakfast in Dhunche. We will ascent towards Shin Gompa along with the breathtaking views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, and Tibetan mountain. The way continues steeply through the forests of oak and hemlock and then steeply via rhododendron forest and pastures. After hiking roughly for 2 hours, we will reach Deurali (2500m), a small village on the way to Shin Gompa with few tea houses.
Passing through the beautiful trail with rivers and waterfalls, we will reach Dhimsa (2900m) after 3 hours of hiking. From Dhimsa, the climb is a little difficult as the trail goes uphill through beautiful pine forests. We have to trek steep uphill sections to reach Shin Gompa (3200m), a settlement located at the lap of a pine forest. People also call this place ‘Chandanwari’.
Shin Gompa has a lot to offer to its visitors. A Yak cheese factory and old Buddhist monasteries are the major attractions of Chandanwari. We will try the tasty Yak cheese and visit Sing Gompa. We can see Langtang Mountain broadens including Ganesh Himal from here.
