Hile Kharka to Khumai Danda Trek
Starting from Hile Kharka hikers set off on a path that typically takes around 3 to 4 hours to reach Khumai Dada, situated at an altitude of 3245 meters. The trek commences, with a climb, amid lush rhododendron and oak forests offering a revitalizing beginning to the journey.
Continuing on the journey the trail winds its way, along the ridges providing awe-inspiring vistas of the valleys beneath. Along the path, hikers pass through alpine meadows adorned with wildflowers during the springtime.
On the way to Khumai Dada, you will come across places like Chichimle, Lobrucho, and Deurali. From Chichimle a clear route, to the summit of Khumai Dada can be seen. As you approach Khumai Dada the terrain becomes more rugged and filled with the invigorating fragrance of pine and juniper trees. The final part of the trek involves an ascent that rewards trekkers with views of snow-capped peaks and rolling hills below. From the summit, you’ll be treated to the sight of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Korchan, Mt. Machhapuchhre, and Mt. Lamjung.
Khumai Danda to Korcha Danda Hike to Ghalel & Drive to Pokhara
On this day we’ll make our way back, to Pokhara. Our first stop will be a hike from Khumai Dada to Khorchan, which should take an hour. During this trek, we’ll pass through forests, gently rolling hills, and charming traditional villages. We’ll definitely take some time to soak in the views along the way. Khorchan is renowned for its sunrise vistas.
Once we’ve enjoyed the beauty of Khorchan our journey continues towards Ghalel. This part of the trek will span around five hours. Allow us to immerse ourselves in the hospitality and rich cultural heritage of the Ghale community. After this enriching experience, we’ll head back to Pokhara while being treated to awe-inspiring panoramas of the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Our memorable expedition in Nepal will come to a right, at the heart of Pokhara.

This trail is suitable, for hiking throughout the year. However, the spring and fall seasons offer the experiences when exploring Khumai Dada on foot. The ideal time to embark on a hike is during spring and fall as these seasons bring weather, clear air, and optimal temperatures.
October and November are months, for hiking. During these months the monsoon season concludes, attracting early-season trekkers who seek skies and comfortable temperatures. Please keep in mind that the weather can be unpredictable and may change abruptly. It’s important to be prepared for weather conditions.
During the summer it can get quite hot. There is a possibility of rainfall, which can make hiking a bit more difficult. Similarly in winter the cold temperatures and occasional icy terrain pose their challenges.

This adventure trek offers an experience, for hikers who are looking for an easy journey through the captivating landscapes of Nepal. The trails are well-defined. The terrain is moderate making it accessible to individuals with hiking skills and a moderate level of fitness. Although there may be some sections that require endurance the overall trek is manageable. It’s important for hikers to be prepared for changing weather conditions, including temperatures at altitudes, and to acclimate properly.
Before embarking on the trek it’s advisable for hikers to engage in exercise and cardio workouts. Additionally, having appropriate gear such, as hiking boots, warm clothing, and a reliable backpack is crucial to ensure a safe trekking experience.
Throughout the journey, comfortable accommodations can be found in teahouses and lodges where hikers can rest after each day’s hike. Local guides and porters are available to provide support along the way making navigation easier and transforming this trek into an adventure.
To trek from Khumai Dada to Korchan Dada and Ghalel and then return to Pokhara trekkers must obtain the permits to comply with regulations. The main permits needed for this Nepal trek are as follows;
TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System): The TIMS card is a permit that all trekkers must have with them. It is a measure taken by authorities to maintain trekker safety and keep track of everyone. Whether you’re trekking alone or with a group obtaining the TIMS card is a requirement.
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): To explore the Annapurna Conservation Area trekkers must obtain the ACAP permit. This permit is necessary to access the conservation area support conservation efforts and contribute to community development. It is a requirement, for anyone planning to trek in this region.
