Your Journey, Step by Step

Day 1: From Kathmandu- Phulchowki - Kathmandu

Early morning at 7:00 AM, after having breakfast, you will be picked up from Kathmandu (or nearby hotel) and driven to Godawari Botanical Garden, the starting point of the hike. The drive takes around 1-1.5 hours, depending on traffic. And the hike takes around 5-7 hours.

Reaching Godawari, the hike begins through thick green forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine, with many species of plants, where you can enjoy the surroundings and spot various kinds of local birds. 

On the trail, take multiple breaks at scenic viewpoints up the hill. Hydrate and enjoy light snacks while taking in views of the valley below.

After hiking for a few hours, you will arrive at Phulchowki Summit(2,762 m). Then, enjoy the stunning views of the Kathmandu valley and the Himalayas, exploring the hilltop area with communication towers and prayer flags.

Have a packed lunch or a short picnic while soaking in the scenery. Then, begin hiking back down the same trail towards Godawari, taking short breaks as needed and enjoying the forested path from a different perspective.

Reach Godawari and drive back to Kathmandu. Optional stop at a cafe for tea or refreshments. Then, you will be dropped off back to your hotel or pickup point, marking the end of the Phulchowki Hike day trip.
