Trishuli River, named after the Trishula or trident of Shiva is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River basin. Trishuli is formed up of snowmelt of Mt. Ganesh and Langtang Himal. Besides that, the Trishuli River is one of the most popular rafting rivers in Nepal. Trishuli River Rafting is also a combination of beautiful mountain scenery and exhilarating white water rapid. This river rafting offers fun and exciting rafting trips. It is one of the wildest and most spectacular rivers in Nepal.
Trishuli River is especially famous for rafting & Kayaking. It is an ideal place for day trips as it runs just west of Kathmandu. It is most easily accessible from Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Royal Chitwan National Park. You can have a morning ride from any of these places and reach the rafting river. Moreover, you can have rafting fun in the day and return to the back to your place the same day. The trail to the Trishuli river includes the amazing scenery of the small gorge and a glimpse of the cable car. This cable leads to the famous Hindu Temple Manakamana.
It takes probably 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the Trishuli River and located west of Kathmandu. If you want to do rafting to be in Kathmandu or between Kathmandu and Pokhara then the Trishuli River is the best option. Today, you will have an early morning breakfast in your hotel room. After breakfast, you reach to the tourist bus station. And around 6:30-7 am your journey to the rafting point starts. It's about 3 hours drive with beautiful scenery. You will have amazing sceneries pass while passing through the terraced fields. You too get a glimpse of small cable on the way. Then you reach a village on the bank of Trishuli River, Chaurandi.
In Chaurandi you will meet the raft guide here. After a delicious lunch on the beach, you will be provided with a lesson by a leader. River safety, paddling techniques and some rescue tips for safety are taught. Finally, you will enter the river with life jackets and other helmets. And you can enjoy rafting for around three hours. While rafting the rapids increase in size and frequency. Besides that, the walls become steep, densely forested. This adventurous rafting ends at Kurintar. After completing the rafting, you drive back to Kathmandu by local bus on the same day.
