Chhukung Ri Peak Climbing Overview

Chhukung Peak climbing has a perfect short adventure peak climbing experience. It lies in the Khumbu region of Nepal, the north side of Chhukung, and takes approximately 3-4hrs of lung-busting effort. The flight distance from Kathmandu (Capital City) to the Khumbu region is 150km and it takes around 55 mins to reach there. The highest elevation of the peak is 5,550m/18,200ft. It is a rocky peak, similar to Kala Patara. Every year there are many visitors visiting this peak.

The peak is smaller by the Himalayan standards. So; it doesn’t require much technical expertise. Basic knowledge will be enough. Chhukung peak climbing adventure is suitable for beginner-level climbers. From this peak we can have a beautiful view of Island peak (6,160m), Ama Dabalm (6,812m), Makalu Peak (8,481m), and Nuptse Peak (7,861m). We can’t see the Mouth Everest from here and that’s probably the main reason why Chhukung Ri is a lot quieter than Kala Pattar and Gokyo Ri.
