Tilicho Lake Trek Difficulty
The trip to Tilicho Lake has a moderate to severe difficulty level. During the winter and monsoon seasons, the trail becomes more difficult due to its rough and narrow nature, with certain sections being slick and icy. Tilicho Lake is 4,920 meters above sea level, which further increases the difficulty. You must be in good mental health in order to complete this hike. It takes a cheerful outlook to traverse the terrain for five to six hours a day. You can train for the hike by doing physical activities back home. Enhancing your endurance before traveling will facilitate the Tilicho Lake hike. To increase your energy, try cycling, Zumba, running, or some yoga exercises. Squats and lunges are the best exercises you can perform at home.
Tilicho Lake Trek Tips
It’s best not to directly drive to Manang as theres a risk of altitude sickness because of sudden increase in altitude. It’s safer to trek from Dharapani or Chame. Remember this when planning your itinerary.
Make sure to stay well hydrated while trekking to prevent altitude sickness. Trekking involves a lot of exertion so dehydration is a concern.
