Trek Preparations
It's always an idea to engage in some activities before embarking on a trek. You don't have to be super athletic or muscular, for trekking; having a level of fitness can make the journey less taxing. Drinking water availability
When you're up, in the mountains the issue isn't finding drinking water but the cost of it. As elevation increases so does the price of water. One option is to refill your water bottles at tea houses where you can get boiled water at prices. It's an convenient way to stay hydrated so make sure to bring along least two water bottles with you.
Transportation Arrangement
We will use private vehicles when we pick you u from the airport and while dropping you off at the airport during departure. To reach the trek starting destination we will use public transportation.
Communication Facilities
The internet connection stays strong all the way from Besisahar, to the Manang Valley except for interruptions or limited service in high altitude regions and near Tilicho Lake. Guesthouses may charge extra for internet access and electricity for charging your devices. Although phone signal reception is usually reliable it can be spotty, at elevations. Using a SIM card can also help you get internet services in the area.
Are Guide and Porter essential to trek Tilicho Lake Mesokanta La Pass?
Trekking in Nepal will compulsorily require a Trekking Guide starting from April 1 2023. It is highly recommended to have a guide, for safety and full assistance when organizing your trekking tour in the Himalayas. Individual trekkers will no longer receive TIMS cards (Trekking Permit). They must book their trek through a registered trekking company and hire a guide for the journey in the Himalayas. Under this rule all trekkers must engage a Trekking Guide and obtain a TIMS CARD through a legally registered trekking company recognized by the Government of Nepal. This decision aims to prevent incidents like getting lost, health concerns, natural disasters and also aims to create job opportunities, in Nepals tourism sector.

Porter Arrangement
Please note that our package for the Mesokanta Trek does not include porter service; however we can provide this service upon request for a fee. Our experienced porters have years of experience in carrying gear and belongings during treks. Each porter can carry up to 22kg. It is possible to share a porter with trekkers. The fee, for each porter is USD 234. It is recommended to pack light so that one porter can effectively assist two individuals.
Altitude Sickness (AMS)
High altitude sickness, known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is an occurrence when ascending rapidly to altitudes above 3000 meters. The symptoms of altitude sickness stem from the reduced air pressure, at elevations leading to oxygen levels in the air you breathe. The decreased air pressure makes it more challenging, for your body to extract oxygen from the air and circulate it effectively resulting in the development of altitude sickness.
Here are some safety tips to prevent altitude sickness;
Ascend steadily.
Once you reach an altitude of, over 2000 meters reduce your walking time and pace.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Get rest. Take breaks if your body feels the need for it.
Consume high calorie foods.
Refrain, from smoking or drinking alcohol.
Symptoms of Altitude sickness

If you experience any of these symptoms it's important to take following action;
Avoid going higher for the next 48 hours
Descend, to an altitude if possible
Rest completely until you start feeling better
Refrain from exercising or smoking
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
Use extra oxygen if needed
Take medication, for motion sickness
If your health doesn't improve within the next two days you may need to be airlifted to Kathmandu. Make sure you have insurance that covers helicopter evacuation expenses.

Tilicho Lake Mesokanta La Pass Trek Permits
You won't need to stress about getting permits. We handle all the procedures, including permit fees. That being said here are a things you might find interesting to know. Trekking permits are essential, for trekking in areas.

These permits can be obtained at the Department of Immigration, in Dillibazaar, Kathmandu.
Visa and passport requirements
Your passport has to be valid for at least six months during your arrival at Nepal. It is your responsibility to process for Tourist Visa which is available at Tribhuwan International Airport.
