Your Journey, Step by Step
Kathmandu Sightseeing, Trip preparation
Today, you will have breakfast in your hotel room. Later, we will introduce you to our guide. After the meeting, our guide will brief your Yala Peak Climbing. You can discuss the trip and clear it without any confusion. We will help you in your preparation and get our equipment checked by our climber leader. After preparation, you can either relax in the hotel or visit the Pashupatinath temple for the evening Arati. Overnight at Kathmandu
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1,550m/5,100ft)
After breakfast, we will leave Kathmandu in the morning for Syabru Besi. It will be a lengthy but scenic drive. We drive along the northwestern hills of Kathmandu. On the way, we witness the beautiful scenery of white snowcapped mountains. Like, Mt. Annapurna II, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal with other minor peaks go with the route. Moreover, you have an amazing vista of the green scenery of hillocks, and rivers. It will be on a winding road through regular switchbacks. And the ridgeline scene goes through the Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati, and Dhunche. Then our today’s trail ends with a descent into the small village of Syabru Besi. Overnight at Syabru Besi.
Trek from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft)
From Syabru Besi we start walking to Yala Peak. Following the trail, we cross through the Bhote Khoshi Rive. It is flowing down from Tibet and follows the Langtang Khola. On the way, we visit the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche. Then we continue with the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. Crossing the suspension bridge, we have a gradual ascent up to Bamboo passing by a landslide. The trail then goes through the sub-tropical forest. You can see the forest is covered by oak & maple, fir, massive spruce, and blue pine. And here you can find a variety of wildlife. Yellow-throated martens, wild boars, Langur monkeys, red pandas & Himalayan black bears, etc. are inhabitance of the forest. Moving forward, we have a gentle ascend to Rimche. And continuing the trek we soon reach Lama Hotel for the overnight stay. Overnight at Lama Hotel
Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft)
After a delicious breakfast at Lama Hotel, we continue our trek to Langtang village. Our trek starts with a gentle climb. You ascend enjoying the view of the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls. Continuing the trek, we reach the green meadows of Ghora Tabela. From here we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Now we walk on the trail that climbs up the widening valley. It passes through a few temporary settlements used by herders. They bring their livestock here in summer. Then we pass a Buddhist monastery and reach the Langtang village. Langtang valley is surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields. In the fields, buckwheat, turnips, wheat, potatoes, and barley are planted. These walls help to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. You can see the flat-roofed Tibetan-style house here.
Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft)
Leaving beautiful Langtang village, today we are trekking to Kyanjin Gompa. We first have a gradual climb through small villages. And as the valley opens we reach yak pastures revealing amazing mountain views. Here, the mountain to your left is Langtang Lirung and the one before us is the Ganchempo. We continue our trek crossing several small streams and moraines. And finally, by lunchtime, we reach Kyanjin Gompa. You can see the cheese factory operated by the government here. Acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa
We are spending another day at Kyanjin Gompa for acclimatizing our bodies to have a safe journey in the Himalayas. We will acclimatize our bodies by hiking around the area. The hiking around Lagsisha Kharka with the beautiful view of the nearby peaks on the way. Likewise, the view of Dorje Lakpa and Shishapangma is amazing. From the Kharka, the view of semi-permanent stone settles – the settlements of herders for summer months only to tend their yaks.
Or if you don’t want to Lagsisha Kharka, you can visit the monastery and the cheese factory. You may also walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung. Besides that, you can ascend Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri- the highest point of the trek. Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Base Camp (4,600m)
After a well day spend in Kyanjin, you will be hiking to the base camp of Yala Peak. We have to trek along a rocky glacier to reach Yala Base Camp. You will hike for around 6 hours and reach the Base Camp. Reaching base camp, you have mesmerizing views of Ganchempo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, and Yala Peak. After enjoying the beautiful panorama, you will have basic training in climbing techniques and using the climbing gear. Climbing gears include ropes, ice axes, harnesses, and crampons. You can consult if there is any confusion for the last time with the climbing guide. After training, you will have the rest overnight at Yala Peak Base Camp.
Climb to Yala summit (5,500m) and return to Kyanjin Gompa
It’s a special day as you are trekking for the main destination after a long journey. We started our journey towards the peak of Yala Peak early in the morning, continue hiking, and finally reached the summit at noon. The bliss you get to feel after conquering the summit is inexpressible where you will be rewarded with astounding views of the mighty Himalayas like Shisha Pangma, Ganchempo, Dorje Lakpa, Tserko Ri, Naya Kang, Langtang Lirung, and many others. After enjoying the superb panorama, we hike back to base camp and then to Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.
Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
We will have breakfast in Kyanjin with an alluring view of genetic snowy-capped mountains. After breakfast, we leave for Lama Hotel. We follow the same trail back. We pass through Langtang Khola to Langtang village. Like before, we cross Ghora Tabela and then descend to Lama Hotel. You get to see fantastic views of towering mountains all the way downhill. Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi
Our day begins with a delicious breakfast at Lama Hotel, and once we’ve finished eating, we will make the trek back to Syabru Besi. As we are hiking back, the trail is mostly downhill. We will be surrounded by lush green vegetation and a fantastic view of mountains and green hills. We continue our walk among the rising and falling path. We get an opportunity to get a closer look at the customs and culture of the Tamang ethnic group. After a continuous trek, we reach Syabru Bensi. Overnight at Syabru Besi.
Drive from Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu
Today, we drive back to Kathmandu. We have a drive through the road passing terraces, streams, rovers, local settlements, and high hills. Moreover, we have a drive along the Trishuli riverside. After around 7 hour’s beautiful drive, we reach Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you can have some rest. Later in the evening, you will have a cultural dinner with the Bold Himalayas. It’s your last day in Nepal. I hope you had a great time here. Our representative will drop you to the airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Or if you have more time, we can arrange another awesome trip right away.

The spring season falls under March, April, and May which are the most appropriate seasons to attempt Yala Peak climbing. The clear weather and pleasant atmosphere make the route favorable and the views of the gigantic Himalayas brilliant. Since it is a pre-monsoon season, you can expect less rainfall which means the possibility of successfully conquering Yala Peak is high without any difficulties.
The autumn season spans the months of September, October, and November, making it the ideal time to embark on a Yaka Peak adventure. Since it is a post-monsoon season, the climate sets itself perfectly for trekking or climbing with clear views of blue skies and the mighty Himalayas. This season extends pleasant weather and temperatures, making it the perfect time to unwind at the summit of Yala. Along the way, you can enjoy breathtaking natural views and gain cultural insights before undertaking your climb up to Yala Peak.
Yala Peak is located in the Langtang Region of Nepal, situated approximately 75 kilometers to the north of the city of Kathmandu. This peak is suitable for hikers with moderate experience and does not require technical skills to climb. At a height of 5,700 meters (18,700 feet), the top of Yala Peak provides breathtaking panoramas of the Langtang Valley, Ganesh Himal, and Shishapangma, the tallest peak in Tibet.
For Yala peak climbing, travel insurance is mandatory as it provides safeguards to the climbers. When buying travel insurance, make sure the policy covers important situations such as helicopter evacuation, medical treatment and expenses, repatriation, trekking, and climbing. It is recommended to secure insurance that covers trekking or climbing activities up to an altitude of 6,000 meters. By getting travel insurance, you can climb or trek with peace of mind, without any worries as it offers protection and ensures a worry-free journey.
Even though the Yala peak climbing is the easiest mountaineering trip, normal physical fitness is required concerning the safety of climbers or trekkers. It is recommended for climbers to involve in physical exercises like running, swimming, and short hiking at higher altitudes if possible to improve their physical strength. Climbing a peak at an altitude of 5,700 meters is a serious endeavor. To be successful, it is essential to be prepared and knowledgeable about the necessary mountaineering equipment, such as crampons, ropes, and jumar ascenders.

Drinking water can be available in two categories: one from natural water resources and the other from tea houses or lodges.
The tea houses offer mineral water, bottled water, or boiled water with some charges for the trekkers. Besides, spring water or tap water is also available for drinking in several places for refilling bottles. However, we recommend carrying a water purifier to ensure the water is safe for drinking.
Yala peak climbing, while not at extremely high altitudes, reaches an elevation of 5,700m/18,7aft at a summit. Climbing in the Himalayas where atmospheric pressure is high and oxygen level is low, the possibility of altitude sickness is in existence but it is no big deal with acclimatization and a well-managed itinerary or to avoid altitude sickness, it is crucial to properly prepare before embarking on a trek. Staying hydrated, avoiding smoking and alcohol, maintaining a slow pace while trekking, and consuming a high-calorie diet can also help prevent altitude sickness.
After 13 days of long trekking and climbing expedition, if you wish to extend your trips with a tour of relaxation then we have flexible options according to your interests. You can tour around Kathmandu Valley after the completion of your climbing trip in Yala Peak. The options for the extension of adventurous trips to other region includes thrilling rafting adventures, Jungle Safari at Chitwan National Park, Paragliding, or Bungee jumping at Pokhara.
You will find various tea houses and lodges on the trekking trail that offer basic accommodation, such as twin-sharing rooms with beds, blankets, pillows, bed sheets, and mattresses. The tea houses offer a shared dining table for all the trekkers staying there and enjoying the local cuisine together. The tea houses offer a variety of local dishes such as Dal, Bhat, and Tarksri (consisting of rice, lentils, and vegetables), as well as noodles and momos (dumplings).
ATM and Money Exchange
You can easily find ATM and currency exchange facilities in the Kathmandu Valley, as well as in the nearby town of Syabru Besi before starting the trek. Climbers need to carry enough Nepalese currency with them for the trek.

Almost all of the teahouses and lodges available on the trekking trail offer Wi-Fi facilities. Additionally, you can make international calls from certain villages of the Langtang region.

Climbing Yala Peak is the shortest and easiest climbing peak in Nepal. According to our standard itinerary, it takes 13 days to complete including one acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa.
During the trek, you will spend eight nights in clean and comfortable tea houses. However, please note that according to our standard itinerary, you will be spending one night in a camp. Please keep in mind that this may be subject to change based on various factors such as weather conditions and your physical well-being.

When buying travel insurance, it is important to select coverage that includes emergency and medical evacuation, trip cancellation or delay, medical treatment, injury, loss of baggage, and liabilities.
When ascending Yala Peak, the highest point is the summit of Yala, which reaches an altitude of 5,700 meters (18,700 feet) above sea level.
Trekkers are advised to carry additional money for the expenses such as extra water, beverages, charging electronic devices, and showers. We recommend carrying approximately Nrs. 1,000 to 1,500 per day as extra money to cover additional costs.
