It’s always an idea to engage in some activities before embarking on a trek. You don’t have to be super athletic or muscular, for trekking; having a level of fitness can make the journey less taxing. Dealing with muscles, blisters, joint pain and backache while trekking can be quite unpleasant. Exercising beforehand can help prevent these discomforts from arising. Its recommended to start your exercise routine a month before the trek. Try incorporating cardio exercises like running, jogging, walking, cycling and swimming into your routine. Carrying a backpack during your exercises can help you get accustomed to it. Going to the gym, for workouts is also an option; just remember not to overdo it. Even if you’re going on a trek that doesn’t require levels of fitness exercising beforehand is still advisable as it will only enhance your overall comfort during the journey.

Under this rule all trekkers must engage a Trekking Guide and obtain a TIMS CARD through a legally registered trekking company recognized by the Government of Nepal. This decision aims to prevent incidents like getting lost, health concerns, natural disasters and also aims to create job opportunities, in Nepals tourism sector.
