Your Journey, Step by Step

Best Time to trek Tilicho Lake Mesokanta La Pass

Every season has its appeal but the most beloved times of the year are spring, which spans from April, to May and autumn which runs from September to November. During these periods Nepal experiences a surge in tourists who flock to engage in trekking adventures. These months are bustling with activity and excitement. The weather is delightful and perfect for strolls. The temperatures remain fairly consistent between the monsoon and spring seasons. The trails come alive with foliage and blooming flowers. With skies offering views of the majestic Himalayas it’s a paradise, for photographers.

During the winter months, from December to February trekking can be quite tough because of the snow and freezing temperatures at higher elevations. Likewise in the monsoon season from June to August there is a lot of rain which makes the trails slippery and raises the danger of landslides. These factors make trekking in the Annapurna region less than ideal, during winter and monsoon seasons.

Tilicho Lake Mesokanta La Pass Difficulty Level

The Tilicho Lake and Mesokanto La Pass Trek presents quite an adventure. This trek takes you to altitudes exceeding 5,000 meters with the point being the Mesokanto La Pass, at 5,099 meters (16,729 feet) requiring acclimatization to avoid altitude sickness. The terrain includes paths and steep climbs and descents while the weather can be unpredictable with extreme cold at higher elevations. Expect to walk for an average of 5 7 hours each day on these high altitude treks. A good level of fitness is necessary for these journeys. While prior trekking experience is ideal for this trek newcomers can also navigate it with guidance, from our provided guides. Having guides and a supportive team can really help make your trekking adventures smoother. They play a role, in ensuring your safety and guiding you through isolated terrains successfully.

Trek Preparations

It’s always an idea to engage in some activities before embarking on a trek. You don’t have to be super athletic or muscular, for trekking; having a level of fitness can make the journey less taxing. Dealing with muscles, blisters, joint pain and backache while trekking can be quite unpleasant. Exercising beforehand can help prevent these discomforts from arising. Its recommended to start your exercise routine a month before the trek. Try incorporating cardio exercises like running, jogging, walking, cycling and swimming into your routine. Carrying a backpack during your exercises can help you get accustomed to it. Going to the gym, for workouts is also an option; just remember not to overdo it. Even if you’re going on a trek that doesn’t require levels of fitness exercising beforehand is still advisable as it will only enhance your overall comfort during the journey.

Drinking water availability

When you’re up, in the mountains the issue isn’t finding drinking water but the cost of it. As elevation increases so does the price of water. One option is to refill your water bottles at tea houses where you can get boiled water at prices. It’s an convenient way to stay hydrated so make sure to bring along least two water bottles with you.

Transportation Arrangement

We will use private vehicles when we pick you u from the airport and while dropping you off at the airport during departure. To reach the trek starting destination we will use public transportation.

Communication Facilities

The internet connection stays strong all the way from Besisahar, to the Manang Valley except for interruptions or limited service in high altitude regions and near Tilicho Lake. Guesthouses may charge extra for internet access and electricity for charging your devices. Although phone signal reception is usually reliable it can be spotty, at elevations.
