Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
After breakfast, our guide will pick you up for sightseeing. You will be visiting several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Kathmandu is steeped with historical places full of world heritage. Our city tour includes the holy Hindu Pashupatinath temple, the historic Durbar Square, one of the oldest landmarks of Nepal, and the famous Monkey Temple, Swayambhunath, and the large Buddhist stupas (shrines) of Boudhanath. After sightseeing, we will drop you off at the hotel. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion. Our trekking guide will explain about the trek and the itinerary. Kathmandu - Lukla (2,840m/9,318ft) - Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft)
Today we will take an amazing, and thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After breakfast, you will be escorted to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport. You will have about 30 30-minute flight above the breathtaking green and white mountains. And you finally land at Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to the Khumbu region, and from here our trek begins. Upon reaching Lukla, we will start to pour trekking to Phakding. Start with an easy walk through the Chauri Kharka village. Then descent toward Dudh Khoshi Ghat. Follow the trail to the bank of the Dudh Koshi River and walk through the rhododendron forest with a view of Kusum Kanguru. On reaching Phakding, we will check into Yeti Mountain Home. It is located on the bank of Dudh Koshi River and is surrounded by a beautiful mountain view. Overnight stay at Phakding.
Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,280ft)
From Phakding, we will start our journey toward Namche Bazaar. Our trail passes through beautiful rhododendron, pine, and oak forests shadowed by the Dudh Koshi River. Then we will pass through many suspension bridges. You will be watching the wonderful view of glistening Mt. Thamserku on the way. After passing through several settlements like Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo, we will be at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Now, the trail passes through a waterfall with a slight climb to the last village of Jorsale before reaching Namche Bazaar. Then, walking through the forest and bridges, we reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. And with the first sight of Mt. Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge, we arrive at Namche Bazaar. Namche, the main trading hub of this region, is a gateway to Mt. Everest. Overnight stay at Namche.
Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day
Namche Bazaar is the main centre of the Everest region. Government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and a bakery are available here. As we are trekking to a higher altitude, we need acclimatization. Namche is the best place for acclimatization. So, to get used to the thinner air, we will have an acclimatization hike to Khumjung valley and the famous airstrip at Syangboche. Syanboche airstrip is the highest airstrip in the world. After exploring Syangboche, we hike to the Everest View Hotel, from here you get a stunning view of Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Lhotse, Kusum Kanguru, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the highest mountain of the world, Mt. Everest. And hiking to Khumjung valley, surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kongde and Thamserku, and the sacred peak Khumbila is the best way of spending the acclimatization day. Overnight stay at Namche.
Namche Bazaar to Debuche (3820m/1253ft)
After breakfast in Namche, we head toward Debuche. Our trail leads to the ridge with the aerial view of Namche Bazaar and the amazing view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and a close-up view of Thamserku. Then with an easier walk in the gradual winding scenic path, we head downhill to Phunge Thenga for lunch. After lunch, we start walking uphill through pretty woodlands. It is of rhododendron, pine, and fir trees with amazing views of Tengboche. From Tengboche, you will have a close-up view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest. This place is famous for the biggest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region and the alpine woods. Finally, after about an hour’s walk along the rhododendron forest, we reach Debuche. Overnight stay in Debuche, Hotel Rivendell.
Debuche to Dingboche (4,360m/14,304ft)
We have a beautiful morning view of Everest and magnificent Ama Dablam from Debuche. Then continue walking through several Chortens, Mani walls, and small villages. Following the trail, we reach Pangboche village. It is the biggest settlement of Sherpas in the region. One of the oldest monasteries is found in this area, and we can see the beautiful mountain of Ama Dablam from here. After Pangboche, we climb unwrapped alpine hillsides prior. Then we cross the Imja Khola and reach Dingboche. Dingboche is located in the Imjatse valley with a panorama of snowcapped mountains. You can also see the beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls. These walls protect barley, buckwheat, and potatoes. Dingboche is also the gateway to Chhukung. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
Dingboche acclimatization (4,410 m/14468ft)
Today we hike for acclimatization, we will trek steeply upward to the top of the Nangkartshang peak at an altitude of 5,083 m. Giving a stunning view of Amadablam, Thamserku, Lobuche, Island Peak, Kusum Kanguru, and many more, from the top of Nangkartshang peak offers a view of Imja Glacier and Dingboche valley. It is necessary to hike to help digest at high altitudes and make it easier to do the Everest base camp trek. Overnight at Dingboche
Dingboche to Lobuche trek (4910m/16,105ft)
From Dingboche, the trail to Lobuche comes across Thukla first. Then, the trail from Thukla heads toward Pheriche, which will be a bit difficult. Holding to a sedated walk, the trail takes you to the rock-strewn oblique of Chupki Lara. The trail then drops down towards the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The view of mountain peaks like Khumbutse, the Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren, and the Pumori will be best while crossing the moraine. Moving ahead, you will see Mount Nuptse looking over you. And after a short walk downhill to the yak pasture, Lobuche. Overnight at Lobhuche
Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft)
Today we are heading toward the main destination of our Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek. Our trail from Lobuche goes through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and the mountain walls. After passing the pyramid signpost, we see the crest of the north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, and Nuptse. On reaching Gorakshep, we will be surrounded by snowcapped mountains approaching all around. After lunch in Gorakshep, we continue to Everest Base Camp. The trail to Base camp passes over rocky dunes, moraine, and streams. With the moraine of Khumbu Glacier and stone memorials built for the climber, you will finally be standing at the base of the world’s highest mountain, with the stunning panorama of Khumbu Himalayas- Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Changtse, and Khumbu Glacier & Icefall, a glacial river. After enjoying the beautiful moment, we hiked back to Gorakshep, as overnight stays are restricted in Everest Base Camp. We will have an early sleep as we have an early morning hike to Kala Patthar. Overnight at Gorakshep.
Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar - Pheriche (4280 m/14,070ft)
We will have an early morning hike towards Kala Patthar. So, we will be able to catch the dramatic views and witness the first light of day shining on Mt. Everest. Kala Patthar is one of the highest and most popular viewpoints in the Everest Region that lies towards the west. Early morning hiking increases the chance of clearly seeing Mt. Everest. As we reach the top of Kala Patthar, we can see the sun turning into an orange globe and firing up the icy summits of Pumori, Nuptse, Changtse, and Mount Everest before finally setting below the mountains. Standing on the Kala Patthar, we get to see 3600 views of some of the highest peaks in the world. That precious and closest view of the tallest peak in the world will remain forever with you. After a wonderful time with the beautiful view of the tallest mountains, we retraced the journey back to Gorakshep for an overnight stay. Gorakshep is the last and the highest settlement before reaching Everest Base Camp. Upon reaching Gorakshep, we will have some breakfast and continue walking to Pheriche. We descend from Dughla to a flat, windy valley, and after a pleasant walk, we reach Pheriche. We will check into the nice standard lodge in Pheriche. Overnight stay at Pheriche
Pheriche-Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,280ft)
From Pheriche, we trek back to Namche. You can hike back, taking time to admire every element missed before. Following the Imja River, through rhododendron forest to Tengboche. After crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi river, we descend towards Pungki Thanka. Then pass the Kyangjuma and finally reach Namche. Overnight at beautiful Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar - Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft)
Today, as you trek back to Lukla, it will be your last day of the hike. First, you will descend, crossing several suspension bridges. Further trekking to Dudh Koshi River to Phakding. Then a gradual walk to Cheplung and ascending to Lukla. Prayer flags, Chortens, Mani walls, and miniature Gompas are lined throughout the village. Overnight at Lukla.
Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
After breakfast at Lukla, we will say a final goodbye to our porters and the Everest region. It is another thrilling flight back to Kathmandu, and we will take one last close look at the mountains. On reaching Kathmandu, we will transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in a Kathmandu hotel.

No prior trekking experience is required, but you do need to come with a moderate level of fitness for the Everest Base Camp luxury trek.
Before heading for the trek, it is recommended that you do 2–3 months of cardio/strength training (e.g., stair climbing, hiking with a backpack).
The weight limit for the Lukla flight is 15 kg (33 pounds). You can pay extra USD 2 to USD 5 per kg if you want to carry more than the limit but we don’t recommend it cause it can be withheld sometimes.
In Kathmandu, you’ll be staying in five-star hotels. En route to the base camp, you will stay at the most luxurious mountain lodges available in the region.
The route and stops of both of the treks are the same. However, if you value comfort, the Everest Base Camp Luxury will be the better choice for you because you’ll be lodging in the best lounges in the region throughout the trek.
Yes, there is a risk of altitude sickness in the Everest Base Camp Luxury Longe trek. However, you can prevent this by drinking plenty of water, and our itinerary is designed to tackle altitude sickness with acclimatization days during the trip.
