Everest Helicopter Tour cost
The price of Everest Base Camp depends on which tour you prefer. If you are willing to tour by joining a group the cost will be around US$1300 and if you are willing to book your private Helicopter with friends and Family (Max 2 People) the cost will be nearly US$ 3800. The cost is for Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp to Kathmandu including a stop for breakfast or lunch at Kongde or Everest View Hotel.
There is another option the Heli tour, which is from Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp and back to Lukla helicopter tour which costs around US$ in group and US$ in private. In a group, you will be sharing a helicopter so that the cost will be lower, whereas in a private helicopter, you will be traveling solo or with your own groups of family or friends.
Shared Helicopter vs. Private Helicopter
You can do this Helicopter Tour by either sharing with others or booking a Helicopter according to your preference. However Sharing and booking a private Helicopter for a tour has its own merits and demerits as well. Sharing a helicopter is budget-friendly and makes Everest even easier to reach. It also offers multiple landing means you can observe the view from both air and ground. The disadvantage of sharing a helicopter is that you may have to wait longer for others to join in a group with you.
Touring from a private helicopter might be a little costly but you will receive maximum flexibility on the tour by privately booking the helicopter. You can fully customize the date of the flight, stopping places, and the amount of time you want to spend at different stopping places. If you have your own group for visiting the Everest base camp, then it is better to go in a Private Helicopter with family and friends. The maximum ride on a helicopter is 2 people on one flight.

Riding the helicopter from Kathmandu vs joining the ride from Lukla
You might wonder what are the distinct experiences we get by joining the helicopter from Kathmandu and Lukla. Starting the journey from Kathmandu enables a scenic flight that encompasses the gradual transition from the lowland areas to the towering peaks of the Himalayas. This route provides a diverse visual experience, showcasing terraced fields, the Kathmandu Valley, and the majestic mountains. However, it entails a longer flight duration and reduced acclimatization time as travelers are swiftly transported to higher altitudes, potentially increasing the risk of altitude-related issues.
In contrast, beginning the tour from Lukla provides immediate immersion into the breathtaking Himalayan landscape. The flight from Lukla is notably shorter, ensuring quicker access to the iconic peaks. Moreover, this route allows for a more gradual ascent, enabling travelers to acclimatize better to the high-altitude environment, which is crucial for a safe and enjoyable experience in the Everest region.
Although helicopter tours from Lukla are generally more cost-effective due to the reduced flight distance, availability can be limited during peak trekking seasons. The choice between the two starting points ultimately hinges on individual preferences, budget considerations, and the importance of acclimatization for each traveler.

The calm surroundings of Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, are packed with panoramic vistas and spiritual tranquillity.
Thamel’s bustling streets are home to a wide variety of local delights, ranging from crafts to gastronomic excursions. Savoring the varied flavors of local foods becomes a vital experience while sampling true Nepali cuisine. A visit to the famed Pashupatinath Temple reveals the rich fabric of Hindu traditions, while periods of quiet in the Garden of Dreams give an ideal location for introspection.
